October 21, Fineko/abc.az. Gold prices declined for a fourth consecutive session on Wednesday as rising crude oil prices rekindled inflation worries and directed market focus toward the upcoming Federal Reserve policy meeting.

Spot gold slipped 0.2% to $4,118.18 per ounce, while US December gold futures dropped to $4,136.20. Analysts from DHF Capital noted that elevated oil prices maintain inflationary pressures, reinforcing expectations of tighter monetary policy and keeping non-yielding gold under pressure.

Among other precious metals, spot silver dropped to $57.44 per ounce, platinum fell to $1,638.61, and palladium declined to $1,090.84.
