European Gas Prices Hit Highest Level Since Late 2022

11:59 - 19.10.2026

October 19, Fineko/abc.az. European natural gas prices expanded their gains as tanker attacks near the Strait of Hormuz and low inventory levels heightened winter supply concerns.

Benchmark Dutch TTF futures rose 0.7% to €88.12 per megawatt-hour, reaching their highest level since December 2022.

European gas storage levels currently stand just above 74% capacity, significantly below the five-year seasonal average of 89%. According to Bloomberg Intelligence, intensifying global competition with Asia for limited LNG cargoes could push benchmark prices up toward €102 per megawatt-hour as winter heating demand accelerates.
