Gold Rebounds to $4,132 as US Dollar Pulls Back

October 8, Fineko/abc.az. Gold prices rebounded on Thursday as the US dollar retreated from an 18-month peak. Spot gold rose 0.5% to $4,132.66 per ounce, while US gold futures for December delivery gained 0.4% to reach $4,157.60. The dollar's decline made bullion cheaper for non-dollar buyers, helping prices recover from a two-month low.

Investors are currently gauging the probability of another Federal Reserve rate hike this year, with CME FedWatch tool pricing an 80% chance of an increase in December. Among other precious metals, spot silver climbed to $60.36, platinum gained 1.8% to $1,660.05, and palladium rose 1.6% to $1,142.
