July 13, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan harvested 556 tons of green tea leaves for the first 5 months of this year (57.3 tons, or 11.5% more against Jan-May 2025), the State Statistics Committee informs.

Of the overall volume, 548.4 tons, or 98.6%, was produced in economic region Lankaran-Astara. In this region, the harvest of green tea leaves increased by 11.6% year-on-year.

The highest yield was recorded in Astara region, at the level of 290.3 tons. However, in Astara, the yield fell by 4.4% compared with the previous year. In Lankaran district, production grew by 42.4% and reached 230.3 tons. In Masalli district, the harvest observed growth by 6.9% up to 27.8 tons.

In Sheki-Zagatala economic district, 7.6 tons of green tea leaves were harvested (2.7% more than in the previous year). The entire volume in this region was produced in Zagatala district.
