September 30, Fineko/abc.az. The development of the metallurgical industry and expansion of the production capabilities of Baku Steel Company (BSC) have become an important part of the state's economic strategy, planned until 2030.

The construction of a new rolling mill and the creation of new seamless pipe production facilities within the framework of BSC are included as a special event in the State Program on the Mining & Metallurgical Industry 2027-2030, approved by President Ilham Aliyev on September 23.

It is envisaged that these projects will be supported by state incentive mechanisms in 2027-2030, and the main goal is to increase the production of high-value-added and export-oriented steel products.

According to the program, a total of 5.3 billion manats are planned to be invested in the sector in 2027-2030 and the annual export potential of the industry will reach $2 billion (3.4 billion manats) by 2030.
