October 23, Fineko/abc.az. Amid surging capital demands for artificial intelligence, Meta Platforms has narrowed its annual capital expenditure forecast to between $135 billion and $145 billion.

To fund this massive AI infrastructure push without taking on additional debt that could harm its credit rating, Meta unveiled plans to introduce a new class of non-voting Class C shares. The share issuance strategy aims to raise hundreds of billions of dollars over the coming years for data centers, talent, and strategic acquisitions. Following the announcement, Meta’s 5-year credit default swaps (CDS) hit a record high of 114.79 basis points, putting up to $114 billion of the company's market capitalization at risk.
