September 29, Fineko/abc.az. According to the new World Bank report titled "Integration: Advanced Trade Logistics along the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor", the Middle Corridor has the potential to become one of the key drivers of economic growth in the countries it passes through.

Subject to realization of appropriate investments and structural reforms, GDP of the countries located along the corridor is projected to grow by an average of 3.3% in the long term and employment by 2.9%.

Bank's macroeconomic modeling shows that reducing logistics costs in a network covering Central Asia, the South Caucasus and Turkey will have positive impact on all participating states. Kazakhstan and Turkey will see the largest growth in absolute terms, and small landlocked economies in relative terms. The sharpest employment growth is expected in the construction, trade, business services, transport and agri-food sectors.
