September 21, Fineko/abc.az. Ukraine’s grain exports have dropped 22% year-on-year to 4.67 million tonnes since the start of the marketing season on July 1. Wheat exports fell 44% to 2.33 million tonnes and barley halved to 420,000 tonnes, whereas corn shipments nearly doubled to 1.84 million tonnes. The decline in outbound trade stems from operational disruptions at key deep-water ports (Chornomorsk, Pivdenniy, and Odesa) following Russian attacks since August. Ukraine is currently realizing only 40% of its agricultural export potential.

To support the agrarian sector, the World Bank has approved a $250 million  financial assistance package. The funds will subsidize interest payments under the government's subsidized agricultural credit framework.

Since early 2026, Ukrainian agricultural producers have drawn nearly $2.8 billion in loans under state support mechanisms.
