October 6, Fineko/abc.az. Percentage difference (spread) on the existing loan and term deposit portfolio in manats in the banking sector of Azerbaijan continued expanding in 2026 and reached 6.63 percentage points by early September.

In particular, according to calculations based on CBA statistical data, the average interest on term deposits of individuals in manats was 9.95% and the average interest on loans given to them was 17.36%, as a result of which the difference between them increased to 7.41 percentage points (the highest since November 2021).

A similar trend was recorded in the manat portfolio of legal entities, where the difference reached 4.81 percentage points. There was no such expansion in foreign currency, and the indicators remained stable.
